11/02/2003 - The aftermath - It's funny how people invest so much time and energy carving pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns for one night's enjoyment. (I suppose you can enjoy them longer, but then you have to deal w/ moldy, soggy, rotting pumpkins...yuk!) Come November these centerpieces of the holiday are left bruised and broken in the street, waiting for San Jose Recycling to come by and scoop them up w/ the other yard waste. sigh
